The Boston Celtics won by a lot over the Washington Wizards the other night. They are in playoff mode. The bench broke the record for most franchise threes by a Boston Celtics bench. While now the third seed, they are full steam ahead. The star duo, Jaylen and Jayson, had outings of over 30 points again. The defense, at this point, even without Robert Williams, speaks for itself. Another lopsided score, and another tally in the win column. We can feel the Timelord's absence, but the Celtics are getting through. He is a crucial part of the team. The timetable for his injury has him coming back in a short 4-6 weeks. The Boston Celtics won handedly over the Minnesota Timberwolves the other night. They are cruising, now as a number one seed in the eastern conference. The star duo, Jaylen and Jayson, had 31 and 34 points respectively. A great offensive outing. The defense, at this point, speaks for itself. Another lopsided score, and another tally in the win column. Yet, troubling times lay ahead, due to Robert Williams' in-game injury. He is a crucial part of the team. Out indefinitely with a meniscus tear, the Celtics are going to need a replacement. The timetable for his return range between several weeks to months. Marcus Smart and Robert Williams were both out from the Boston Celtics game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Marcus Smart missed the game due to a non-Covid related illness. Robert Williams missed the game due to right patella tendinopathy in his leg. This is the medical name for the more commonly known "jumper's knee". Fortunately, those who played were firing on all cylinders, yet again. Jayson Tatum had 30 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. Grant Williams had 20 points and 10 rebounds. Al Horford led the team in assists, dishing 7 assists throughout the game. Again, the Boston Celtics win. This time, against the reigning MVP, again. The Celtics have been beating teams who are supposed to be contenders. When does that finally mean that we are contenders as well? Although Stephen Curry was injured in a purely hustle play, the Golden State Warriors should have kept up with the Celtics. The Dubs beat the Celts last year, on December 17th, 2021. Just as they have shown, the Celtics are a team that has turned it all around. Let's all keep willing for it to continue. While the story at the beginning of the year was mainly about their defense, the Boston Celtics deserve some credit for the electrifying offense that they have recently been playing. They regularly create highlight worthy plays. More seriously, they are truly playing like a contending team. Blowing out teams on a regular basis, this team is one you will have to watch out for. They hold the number one defense rating, and are in the top 5 for offense rating since the new year. The Boston Celtics are the number one net team in the league.   Since the new year has started, the Celtics have been playing like contenders. Beginning the season with a record of 18-21, they are now 31-25. With a winning streak that currently stands at 6 games, the Celtics are now in the spotlight due to their great play. With success, comes highlights, of which the team is not coming short. Without further ado, here are my top 10 Celtics highlights since 2022 started, in no order. 10. JAYLEN BROWN DUNKS ON MO BAMBA Jaylen brown is no stranger when it comes to posterizing another player. He has dunked on not only Lebron, but Giannis and Embiid as well. With tonight’s win against the Pistons, the Celtics are off to an amazing start to the new year, with a record of 12-6. A massive turn around from the below average start to the season, at 17-19. Jayson Tatum led the team in points with 24, with 4 triples on 9 three-point attempts. Jaylen Brown, Josh Richardson, and Robert Williams III followed with thirteen, twelve, and eleven respectively.  Robert Williams also got himself a double double tonight, tying the amount of points he scored with rebounds, also at eleven, and had 5 blocks. His plus/minus was also the highest on the team, at 17. With almost 32 minutes of playing time, it seems that he is becoming a solid piece of the team, if he is not already. Not only are our players performing at a high level ( New Year, New Celtics ), but they are doing so while playing like a team.
