Why Robert Williams III is the Big the Celtics Needed

Image
Robert Williams III is the Celtic's starter at Center. This season, he is averaging 9.8 PPG, 9.5 TRB, 2 APG, and 2 BPG. A double-double every game, while giving you some valuable playmaking, efficient scoring and all-NBA level defense. All at an elite true shooting percentage of 74.4% . A big reason for the Celtic's recent 4 game win streak , Robert Williams is the big that the Celtics have needed for a very long time. He adds the defense inside that we have lacked, and as a player, has made the leap to be considered a true force in the NBA.  Since January 1st, Robert Williams is averaging 10 PPG, 10.9 RPG, 2.3 APG, 1.1 SPG, 2.6 BPG, a TS% of 74.3 and a league-best 96.7 defensive rating. From Nothing to Something (AP Photo/Charles Krupa) AP Early on in his career, he was plagued by injuries , and was a question mark on defense, causing some to doubt whether or not he would be a legitimate player in the NBA. In July of 2018, Williams was revealed to be diagnosed with poplite...

ANOTHER CELTICS WIN, 12-6 Record to Start New Year (Full-Game Highlights)

Image
With tonight’s win against the Pistons, the Celtics are off to an amazing start to the new year, with a record of 12-6. A massive turn around from the below average start to the season, at 17-19. Jayson Tatum led the team in points with 24, with 4 triples on 9 three-point attempts. Jaylen Brown, Josh Richardson, and Robert Williams III followed with thirteen, twelve, and eleven respectively.  Robert Williams also got himself a double double tonight, tying the amount of points he scored with rebounds, also at eleven, and had 5 blocks. His plus/minus was also the highest on the team, at 17. With almost 32 minutes of playing time, it seems that he is becoming a solid piece of the team, if he is not already. Not only are our players performing at a high level ( New Year, New Celtics ), but they are doing so while playing like a team. It seems that our new coach has finally gotten through to the players and adjusted to the NBA game. The Celtics have the best team defense in the lea...

THE WORLD's FIRST SUPER TEAM of STATES: Massonnecticut Island

Image
If LeBron can do it, why can't we? He set the precedent, not us. That is why, just like LeBron teaming up with Mario Chalmers in Miami; Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut should all come together to create the world's first super state team. We would have a serious competitive advantage compared to the other states, maybe even putting us over the hump of being considered a perennial All-State.  Boosted to a population of 11.57 million, we would be 8th in the nation, kicking Georgia out of its place. Paired with world leading education, healthcare, service, mass transit and technological industries, Massonnecticut Island would be contender to win the National Title year-after-year. A true dynasty.  Not only would we have a global-class human development index, but we would also be absolutely tickled to find out that our new state contains enormous expanses of protected forests, mountains, rivers, and beaches. A combination of old word comfort, with new world am...

New Year, New Boston Celtics?

Image
The Celtics were disappointing to start the season, and I say that as an honest Celtics fan. Jayson Tatum was not playing like Jayson Tatum, a new coach forced players to adjust to a new gameplan, and the team was simply not clicking. Even with decent additions in Dennis Schroeder and Al Horford, the team struggled to secure a win. They had only seventeen wins, compared to nineteen losses. A measly 47%-win ratio. Paired with an average team score of 108 points vs. opponent team score of 107 points. The Celtics presented themselves to the league as a back-of-the-pack team. What was supposed to be a team contending for a championship, quickly became a team vying for the chance at a high playoff seed. Yet, there were sparks of hope. At the end of the year, and up to now, something seems to have clicked with the team. Maybe it’s the fact that Ime found a lineup that works with the basketball he is trying to teach and play, maybe it’s the fact that our best players have finally fo...
